Our very first Queen’s Meeting was a moment of arrival. For so many of us, it was the first time we’d been in a space that felt like it was made for us and by us. Black women from across the Inland Empire gathered to celebrate strength, story, and self-discovery.

The theme for the day was Discovering Your Power, and our keynote speaker, Dina Walker, delivered an unforgettable message on the seven strengths of Black women. Her words were rooted in experience, affirmation, and the kind of truth that stays with you long after the mic is passed.

The program also featured original poetry from Sheba Jennings who brought stories of sisterhood, healing, and shared joy to the stage.

The room was filled with laughter, reflection, connection, and so much love. Attendees didn’t just attend—they showed up for themselves and for each other. And in doing so, they set the tone for everything the Queen’s Meeting has become.

We also began a powerful tradition that continues to this day—honoring women who’ve shaped our community through decades of quiet service and bold leadership. Our very first Queens of the Community were:
👑 Felicia Jones
👑 Carla Towns
👑 Mary D. Welch

Their legacy and impact remind us that being a queen isn’t about titles—it’s about how you build, how you serve, and how you uplift the next woman behind you.

The 2022 Queen’s Meeting laid the foundation for what’s now an annual gathering of intention, celebration, and intergenerational sisterhood.
